TAD CE1TX in WN wood finish on separately sold ST2TX stands.
A substantial standmount with a 14 cm CST midrange/tweeter and an 18 cm woofer. TAD CE1TX brings the larger Evolution driver platform into a separate speaker-and-stand format, with distinctive side-port construction.
Compact Evolution One TX brings a larger CST and a dedicated bass driver to a standmount system. The concentric midrange and tweeter are designed to keep a voice and its overtones together in space. When comparing it with ME1TX, listen for how that vocal image holds together as instruments build around it, as well as the weight and shape of bass notes.
A larger concentric midrange and tweeter
The 14 cm magnesium midrange surrounds a 35 mm vapour-deposited beryllium tweeter. CST places them on one axis to coordinate their radiation through the crossover. TAD’s design goal is to keep voices and instrumental overtones spatially connected.
One continuous bass diaphragm
The 18 cm MACS II woofer combines its cone and centre cap in one shell-shaped, five-layer diaphragm. TAD uses this continuous construction to balance stiffness and damping, keeping the bass diaphragm controlled as it moves.
Airflow along both sides
The Bidirectional ADS ports sit behind the side panels and open to the front and rear. The arrangement is intended to reduce turbulence and unwanted sound escaping from the enclosure. It gives CE1TX a different cabinet layout from a conventional speaker with a single rear port.

How it compares
ME1TX is narrower and lighter, with a 9 cm CST and 16 cm woofer. CE1TX increases those to 14 cm and 18 cm. GE1 uses the same driver sizes as CE1TX in a floorstanding arrangement with two woofers, so the choice also changes the cabinet, support and available placement space.
Amplification, support and placement
Allow for a 29 kg speaker on each stand. ST2TX-K is the dedicated matching stand, sold separately as a pair; its footprint is 399 × 485 mm before allowing for placement clearance.
CE1TX is passive, with a nominal 4 Ω impedance and 85 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V / 1 m. Match amplification to the load, room and desired listening level, rather than treating the 200 W maximum input as a required amplifier rating.
Positioning the pair
Keep the front and rear openings of the side slots unobstructed. Begin with symmetrical placement, then compare bass balance and vocal focus as you adjust wall distance and toe-in. Include the stand footprint when checking how much living space the pair will occupy.

Specifications are published by TAD. Frequency response describes the loudspeaker under the manufacturer’s conditions, not the response at your listening seat. Maximum input is not a recommended amplifier rating.
CE1-TX is a commonly used spelling of CE1TX. This page covers TAD-CE1TX-WN and TAD-CE1TX-K, not the earlier CE1.
Which stands match CE1TX?
TAD specifies ST2TX-K for CE1TX. These stands are sold separately as a pair and provide the intended support for the 29 kg enclosure.
Do the side ports allow placement against a wall?
No placement distance follows from the port design alone. The openings need clearance, and nearby boundaries still change the bass heard at the listening seat.
