PSI Audio · ACTIVE BASS CONTROL

When the room keeps ringing, treat the room, not your music signal.

AVAA C214 absorbs excess low-frequency pressure in the room from 15–160Hz without sitting in your playback chain. It is most relevant when bass is lingering or booming, not when you simply need more extension or need to fill a cancellation.

What do you need to know before you spend?

Already know you want C214? Need to see it work at home? Not sure whether the room needs absorption at all? Choose the next step that matches where you are now.

WHAT AVAA C214 IS AND IS NOT

Active absorption solves a different problem from EQ, subwoofers and passive treatment.

C214 is an active bass absorber. It does not add bass like a subwoofer, reshape the playback signal like EQ, or replace every form of passive treatment. Its job is to reduce excess low-frequency pressure and decay when the room is storing too much energy.

AVAA C214

AVAA C214 listens to low-frequency pressure at its position and actively absorbs energy from 15–160Hz. It works in the room, not in the music signal path, and can run without a room-calibration filter.

01

When active bass absorption may make sense

02

When another solution may work better first

If the main issue is a deep cancellation, poor subwoofer integration or uneven bass across seats, the better first move may be placement, REL integration, multiple subwoofers or further measurement, not more absorption.

03

Measure first. Demonstrate C214 when the room says it makes sense.

Our Melbourne Room & Bass Measurement shows where the real problem sits, in level, decay, placement or subwoofer integration. If C214 is a sensible fit, we can then demonstrate it without putting a room-correction processor in your main music signal path.
