A subwoofer can extend the main loudspeakers and restore scale, weight and continuity. As an additional low-frequency source, it can also change how modes are excited and help reduce the severity of some seat-specific cancellations when placement and integration are measured. It is not acoustic absorption and cannot be promised to eliminate every room mode or null.

When measurement is useful
If one bass note dominates, another disappears, or an existing subwoofer is difficult to integrate, a model change may not be the first answer. The Melbourne Room & Bass Measurement can separate major room behaviour from setup assumptions.
