Bass pressure is often higher near solid walls and corners. Comparing frequency response and decay with C214 in different positions shows where it reduces the room’s resonances.

C214 works in the room without a connection to your music signal. Its position and sensitivity setting affect how it absorbs bass.
Placement and adjustment
- C214 needs mains power but no audio connection to your DAC, preamplifier or loudspeakers
- Position and sensitivity can be adjusted while comparing the response and decay in your listening room
What to listen for
- Listen to the end of a bass note: does it stop cleanly or hang over the next note?
- Compare response and decay measurements to see changes in bass level and how quickly it fades.
- Try different positions to find where the absorber has the clearest effect on the ringing bass.
- For missing bass caused by cancellation, start with speaker and seat placement. C214 does not extend the speakers’ bass response.

Common questions
Does AVAA C214 require calibration?+
No microphone calibration or target curve is needed. C214 starts working when powered on; you can adjust its position and sensitivity to suit the room.
How do I choose between C214 and C225?+
C214 is slimmer and easier to place in a listening room. C225 has a larger cabinet and more operating headroom for powerful home cinema bass and high-level listening. Compare the space available and your usual listening volume.
Where should it be placed?+
Start near a solid wall or corner, where bass pressure is often higher. Compare a few positions while keeping your speakers, seat and volume the same.
How is C214 different from EQ or noise cancellation?+
EQ changes the playback signal. C214 absorbs acoustic energy in the room without changing that signal. It is not a noise-cancelling system that uses an opposite-phase playback signal.
Can C214 fill in missing bass at my seat?+
C214 absorbs excess bass rather than playing additional bass. If a note disappears because sound cancels at your seat, start by trying different speaker or seat positions. Measurements can distinguish a cancellation dip from bass that rings too long.
Can AVAA C214 operate without internet access?+
Yes. C214 works without internet access. The app uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for remote control; once the local network is set up, that control does not need an internet connection.
What warranty does PSI Audio provide?+
PSI Audio provides a five-year warranty, with an extra year when you register your product.
