The Premier DAC
Premier brings four Prime DAC modules, a Femto 93 clock and a separate Powerbase to a modular digital system. Its built-in volume control gives you the choice of keeping your preamplifier or connecting to a suitable power amplifier.

USES
Using the Premier DAC
Purpose
- Combines digital conversion and volume control for a two-channel system.
- The separate Powerbase supplies the converter from outside the DAC chassis.
Connections
- Use the fixed coaxial, AES/EBU or optical inputs for a transport, and the two replaceable module slots for compatible USB, network or other connections.
- Choose the output level for your system: High uses 150 Ω output impedance; Low lowers the signal by 6 dB and uses 75 Ω.
Key differences
- Compared with Discrete, Premier adds more conversion modules, a Femto 93 clock and the Premier Powerbase.
- A replaceable clock and input modules allow individual parts of the system to be updated.

Design and features
Femto 93 clock
The clock sets the timing of conversion. Premier uses a thermally stabilised Femto 93 module that can be replaced independently of the DAC.
Keep the sources you enjoy using
Choose input modules around the way you play music, whether from a transport, computer or network. A separate Digital Director is also an upgrade option for a compatible configuration.

Connecting and setting up
- Fixed digital inputs accept common transport connections; optional modules add connections for your other sources.
- Choose one main volume control: the DAC for direct power-amplifier use, or your separate preamplifier.
Points to consider
- Premier accepts digital sources. Analogue sources need an input elsewhere in your system.
- Allow room for both the DAC and Premier Powerbase, including the cables between them.
