IS IT RIGHT FOR YOUR SYSTEM?

Why consider Sub A125-M?

A125-M is the smaller option for adding low bass to a two-channel system. It is worth comparing with A225-M when you want more extension but have limited room beside the main speakers.

Amplification matched to the drivers

The crossover and amplifiers are designed for the drivers in each cabinet. The signal path is analogue, without DSP, and the built-in amplification removes the need for a separate power amplifier.

Measured individually in Switzerland

PSI Audio builds, measures and calibrates each speaker in Switzerland against its reference response. This sets up the speaker before it leaves the factory; placement and the room shape what you hear at home.

How does it compare?

Sub A125-M has one bass driver and a smaller cabinet than the dual-driver A225-M. Its −6 dB bass limit is 28 Hz; A225-M reaches 24 Hz and offers more output capacity.

Basic signal path. Volume is controlled before the signal reaches the speakers.
  • Connect a volume-controlled line output to the balanced XLR inputs. In a stereo system, use the left and right inputs and Link outputs; in a cinema system, use the processor’s subwoofer output and bass-management settings.
  • The XLR input takes a line-level signal. Never connect a power amplifier’s speaker output to it. Start playback at low volume after connecting the system.
  • The two XLR Link outputs pass the signal to the main speakers without a high-pass filter. Use the PSI manual to set the main speakers’ Roll-Off and subwoofer controls together, or manage the crossover in an external processor.

Where to place it

Leave space for the rear connections and ventilation. Try the subwoofer in a few positions, listening for an even transition from the main speakers, then refine its level and crossover settings.

Each cabinet needs mains power and ventilation around its amplifier panel. The manual covers voltage selection and installation clearances. Use the distance guide above as a starting point for your listening setup.

Common questions

Can I keep my current amplifier or source?

Yes, if it provides an analogue output with volume control. A DAC with variable XLR outputs can connect directly; a fixed-output DAC needs a preamplifier. An integrated amplifier with a variable pre-out can also serve as the front end. For RCA outputs, use a cable wired for the PSI input.

Will adding a subwoofer remove boomy bass?

A subwoofer adds bass extension and output; it is not a treatment for room resonance. If particular notes boom or linger, start with placement and level. Measurements can show whether the next step is integration, EQ or room absorption.

What warranty does PSI Audio provide?

PSI Audio provides a five-year warranty, with an extra year when you register your product.
