Is it a fit for your system?
For a music or cinema system with several passive speakers and limited rack space. Amplitude16 concentrates the power amplification in one chassis and lets you devote more of its channels to speakers with greater power needs. The processor remains responsible for source selection, volume and room correction.
Use more power where it is needed
Sixteen independent channels can drive sixteen speaker channels. Bridging a pair gives one speaker more available power and reduces the independent channel count by one. This allows a mix of bridged and unbridged channels within the same system.
Add a network audio input
The optional Dante board receives audio from a compatible network source, such as an Altitude CI. It changes how the signal reaches the amplifier; the choice of independent or bridged amplifier channels remains separate.

An active subwoofer normally takes its line-level signal from the processor. Optimizer and WaveForming belong to a compatible processor, not the power amplifier.

Breakout cables using the Tascam analogue pinout connect these to a preamplifier or processor. The speaker terminals then drive passive loudspeakers, with listening volume controlled upstream.
In bridge mode, a designated pair of amplifier channels drives one speaker with more available power. Use the pair, terminals and mode described in the Trinnov manual, because the bridged connection differs from normal single-channel wiring.
What affects the result
- Available power depends on the speaker load and how many channels are driven at once. The single-channel ratings and the shared all-channel total describe different operating conditions, so they are listed separately below.
- Active speakers and active subwoofers contain their own amplifiers and normally receive a line-level signal directly from the processor. They do not use Amplitude16’s speaker outputs.
Choose your configuration.
Bridging gives a speaker more available power by combining two amplifier channels. The input choice is separate: analogue DB25 is standard, and Dante is optional.

Input options
Two analogue DB25 inputs are standard. The optional Dante board receives digital audio over a compatible network, with channels routed from the processor to the amplifier.

Space for the amplifier.
- The amplifier weighs 20.5 kg and occupies 3U. It needs a rack shelf or support rated for that weight, ventilation and rear cable space. Its two power supplies also need the appropriate mains connections.

FAQ
Common questions
Does Amplitude16 include Optimizer or WaveForming?+
No. Amplitude16 provides power amplification. A compatible Altitude processor measures and processes the system, controls volume and runs Optimizer or WaveForming. Amplitude16 then amplifies that processed signal to drive passive speakers.
How many channels remain after bridging?+
Each bridged pair turns two amplifier channels into one speaker channel. One bridged pair leaves 15 independent channels in total. Bridging all 16 amplifier channels produces eight speaker channels. Use the designated pairs and connections in the manual.
Is Dante included as standard?+
The Dante input board is optional. The standard unit receives analogue signals through two DB25 connectors. With the board fitted, it can receive audio over a compatible Dante network.
What do the 200 W and 400 W ratings mean?+
They are single-channel ratings: 200 W into 8 Ω or 400 W into 4 Ω, measured at 1 kHz and 0.1% THD. With all channels driven on 230 V mains, Trinnov specifies a shared total of 3,200 W under its test conditions. Multiplying the 400 W single-channel figure by 16 would therefore overstate that all-channel total.
How long is the warranty?+
The manufacturer warranty is five years.
