TRINNOV · MSN AUDIO

Bring your speakers, bass and room into better balance.

Even a carefully chosen system can have uneven bass or a difficult handover between speakers and subwoofers. Trinnov processors measure how the system sounds in your room, then adjust its response and timing to help the components work together.

ALTITUDE CI + WAVEFORMING

Two front subwoofers can help control room modes.

A bass note that booms or lingers can be a sign of room resonance. WaveForming uses subwoofers to reproduce bass and absorb returning reflections, reducing the unevenness and decay that can obscure music or blur successive cinema effects. Altitude CI combines it with Optimizer to adjust the wider speaker system.

With current supporting Altitude software, two front subwoofers positioned to Trinnov’s guidelines can bring this control to a music or cinema system. Measurement and calibration focus the improvement on the main seats. Rear subwoofers intercept reflections earlier and help cover a wider listening area.

AMETHYST · STEREO

A stereo preamplifier that helps speakers and bass work together.

Amethyst is a stereo preamplifier for source selection and volume control, with Optimizer built in. Its four processed outputs can feed the main speakers and one or two subwoofers. Adjusting crossover, level and timing together helps the bass join the main speakers more naturally.

It suits a stereo system that needs room optimisation and bass management in one preamplifier. WaveForming adds a different form of low-frequency reflection control and is offered by the Altitude range, not Amethyst.

Choose the role your system needs.

Amethyst brings processing to stereo listening. Within the Altitude range, the main choice is how many outputs you need and whether your equipment uses analogue, digital or network audio. Amplitude16 takes the processed signal and supplies the power for passive speakers.

Microphones, connections and future upgrades.

The microphone for your processor

The microphone lets Optimizer measure the speakers in your room. CI uses a powered EtherCON model; Amethyst and the other Altitude processors use their specified XLR versions. CI’s EtherCON input supplies power to its microphone, while the other models use their dedicated XLR measurement connections.

Cables and everyday control

DB25 breakout cables connect several channels through one socket. Analogue and AES/EBU cables use different wiring, so choose the cable for the signal it carries. Quotations distinguish genuine Trinnov cables from locally made compatible cables. A remote control is an optional convenience.

Adding channels or new connections

CI channel licences add processing capacity. Altitude32 output boards add analogue connections, while HDMI and ESS upgrades address different parts of an existing processor. The installed boards determine the useful upgrade path; some replacements involve factory work. Amplitude16 can add network audio through its optional Dante input board.

Five-year manufacturer warranty

All five products carry a five-year manufacturer warranty. Eligible older Altitude16 and Altitude32 units also have warranty-extension options. An extension may involve inspection, servicing and freight.
